Obituary: Rose M. Auer

Rose M. Auer, age 69, formerly of Brillion, a current resident of Chilton, died Thursday afternoon, February 2, 2023 at Century Ridge Assisted Living, Chilton.


She was born on February 20, 1953 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Harold and Clara (Lenss) Spatchek. Rose was a graduate of Brillion High School, Class of 1971. On February 23, 1985 she married Michael Auer in Potter. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2022. Rose was employed at Brillion Iron Works and then at CBRF homes as a CNA and cook until she could no longer work. She enjoyed playing cards, watching Westerns, gardening, cooking, baking and family time.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Lisa (Dennis) Pauliot, Oakfield, Rachel Auer, West Bend; two grandchildren: Cullan Pauliot and Hunter Pauliot; her siblings: Terri (Don) Adams, Milwaukee, Katie (Dan) Farrell, Brillion, Joseph (Brenda) Spatchek, Little Chute Carol (Dennis “Smokey”) Tompkins, Pipe, Mike (Peggy) Spatchek, New Holstein, Marlene (Rick) Konrad, Brillion, John (Patricia) Spatchek, Brillion, Tom Spatchek, Brillion, Kristine (Dan) Spielbauer, Milwaukee, Martha (Klint) DeKiser, Fox Crossing and Pat (Lori) Spatchek, Brillion; and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Mark (Mary) Auer and Steve Nolte. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by a brother: James Spatchek and a sister-in-law: Suzie Nolte. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion.

Officiating the Service was Deacon Mark Knipp with burial at Holy Family Cemetery, Brillion. The family greeted relatives and friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
