Obituary: Val Jean L. Link



Val Jean L. Link, age 75, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. 


Val Jean was a Valentine’s Day baby, born February 14, 1948 to the late Raymond and Helen (Fischer) Bubolz.  She was a lifelong member of St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church member with her Baptism on March 1, 1948, Confirmation on May 20, 1962, and later on, her marriage to Peter on June 17, 1967.  He preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.  She was a graduate of Reedsville High School, class of 1966.  Val Jean and Peter owned New Wave Salon in Reedsville for many years, forming many lasting friendships.  She also enjoyed golf cart rides, was an avid Brewers fan, volunteered for over 50 years in various capacities at St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, and especially loved spending time with her family. 


She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Ray (Suzanne) Bubolz; brother-in-law: Henry Behnke; nieces and nephews: Bruce (Vickie) Behnke, Nancy (Bill) Hillmann, Randy (Julie) Bubolz, Donna (Billy) Strudivant, Dan (Paula) Bubolz, Joan (Tim) Sheahan, Robert (Kristy) Bubolz, Andy (Rebekah) Bubolz, Amanda (Nick) Schrubbe, Adam (Melissa) Bubolz, Barry Link, Cheryl Link; great-nieces, great-nephews; special friends: Sandy Rohr and Kim and Ryan Blashka; other relatives, and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Shirley (Probst) Link, Sr.; sister: Doris Behnke; brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Joanne Bubolz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Billy (Mary) Link, nephew and niece: Michael and Brenda Vanden Avond. 


Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church.  Officiating will be Rev. Darin Aden.  Burial will be in St. John St. James Westside Cemetery.


Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
