MAPLE GROVE - The Reedsville Amish Community is holding a Haystack Supper and Bake Sale on Friday, July 9, fro 4 to 7:30 p.m. It is the second of three scheduled for this summer.

The supper is a fundraiser for the Maple Lawn Amish School of Reedsville.

The weather forecast for the day is for a high of 75 degrees under partly sunny skies and no rain.

The suppers were held at the school just outside of Reedsville, but outgrew the site and have moved to the Kauffman Farm and Landmark Building Systems at 16814 Long Road, Reedsville.

The site is just off Manitowoc County G, three miles north of U.S. 10 and Grimms, and a mile south of Taus Road.

The Haystack Supper is a meal where food is piled on your plate like a haystack - crushed crackers, rice, beans, diced vegetables, hamburger, crushed Doritos and hot cheese sauce.

You choose which ingredients you do or don't want.

The meal also includes milk, coffee, fresh pie and home-churned ice cream .

The bake sale offers pies, cookies and breads - among other goodies.

One of the best things about the supper is running into old friends and making new friends, with the proceeds going to educate the next generation of Amish children.

There is plenty of off-road parking and plenty of seating.
