POTTER - The Calumet County Sheriff's Department is warning residents to take precautions to deter prowling.

"There are two recent situations that we would like the Potter area residents to be aware of:

The first incident occurred last Wednesday night, April 22, around 11:30PM on Main Street in Pottedr where a male was looking in house windows," the sheriff's department said in a Facebook post. "At the same time, a female opened the door and briefly walked into a neighboring residence."

Both the male and female then got into a dark colored car and left eastbound on Main Street heading toward Brillion on County PP. The driver appeared to have a hard time getting the vehicle to shift into gear.

The second incident occurred on Friday, April 24, around 9:30 p.m. on Riverdale Drive in Potter, when a person was walking past the homeowner's doorway and then was walking across the porch, the sheriff's department said.

The sheriff's department is asking people to call law enforcement when they see something suspicious, or if they have any information about the two prowling situations or know who may be involved, please call the Sheriff's Office. To reach the sheriff's dispatcher, dial 9-1-1 in an emergency or 920-849-2335 for a non-emergent situation.

Although nothing was reported missing, these incidents are reminders to lock home, outbuilding and vehicle doors.
