Reedsville area girl killed in crash; Go Fund Me established for family

A Go Fund Me fundraiser has been established for Rachel Peterson’s family. Peterson was identified as the victim of the crash.

MANITOWOC – The Manitowoc Police Department in investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26 in a crash on Calumet Street near Custer Street.

The victim is a 17-year old girl from the Reedsville area who attended Reedsville High School. She was in a passenger car that crossed the centerline and collided with a loaded cement truck.

Students who want to speak with a counselor may contact Reedsville High School, at 920-754-4341. High school counselor Jamie Brown will be available, along with other resources.

The area was closed off to traffic for several hours. Manitowoc Police, Fire and Ambulance resources responded to the scene. The crash is undergoing an incident reconstruction investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The Manitowoc Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anything related to it to call 920-686-6551 with that information.
