Rural Chilton home lost to Tuesday fire

Posted at 9:30 a.m. on December 11, 2019 The Brillion News TOWN OF BROTHERTOWN – The Chilton Fire Department Responded to a house fire on South Washington Road, south of Chilton, shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 10. The home was a total loss, despite the efforts of firefighters. There were no injuries. Cold temperatures and icy ground made it tough for firefighter, some of whom experienced falls, according to Chief Bob Schoenborn. Chilton Fire was assisted by mutual aid from the New Holstein, Kiel, St. Anna, Town of Calumet, Stockbridge, Potter, Hilbert, Town of Harrison, St. Cloud, Mt. Calvary, St. Nazianz and Collins fire department, the New Holstein EMS First Responders, Ascension Calumet Ambulance, and the Calumet County Sheriffs Department. Highway crews from the Town of Brothertown and Calumet County treated the roads to keep tanker trucks ferrying water to the fire scene. Chief Schoenborn also thanked Kwik Trip, Roepkes Village Inn and Cheers of Chilton for bringing food to firefighters.
