State 96 to close for a week

Here are details from the state Department of Transportation.

State 96 will be closed to through traffic and detoured from 7 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29 between County PP (north) in the Town of Wrightstown (next to Greenleaf Landscaping) and County G in the Town of Morrison (in Lark).

Access to properties and businesses in the work zone will be maintained. The state highway detour for through traffic is as follows:

  • Eastbound WIS 96 Detour: Traffic will be directed to take WIS 32/57 south to County Z, east on County Z to County W, north on County W to County Z, east on County Z to County G, north on County G to WIS 96.

  • Westbound WIS 96 Detour: Traffic will be directed south on County G to County Z, west on County Z to County W, south on County W to County Z, west on County Z to WIS 32/57 to WIS 96.

    • Note: Local, non-truck traffic can often find shorter routes using the local road system.

There will be hard closures (no vehicles permitted to cross) at some spots:

WIS 96 hard closure at culvert pipe replacement located just west of County W (approximately between Blake Road and County W) from 7 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29.

  • Access to properties on WIS 96 between County W and Blake Road can be obtained by using the local roads system to the north or south to bypass the hard closure and access WIS 96 at either County W or Blake Road.

WIS 96 hard closure at culvert pipe replacement located just west of Pleasant View Road (approximately between Pleasant View Road and Morrison Road) from 7 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29.

  • Access to properties on WIS 96 between Pleasant View Road and Morrison Road can be obtained by using the local roads system to the north or south to bypass the hard closure and access WIS 96 at either Pleasant View Road or Morrison Road.
