MISHICOT - A near four-hour standoff ended when the Manitowoc County SWAT Team took a 40-year old Mishicot man, Derek Kielkopf, into custody at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 23.

It took place at a home in the 400 block of East Main Street in the Village of Mishicot where a disturbance took place and the suspect had a knife.

Three adult victims got out of the residence and were taken by Mishicot Ambulance to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.

Kielkopf was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail.

The sheriff's department suggested charges of disorderly conduct, battery, and recklessly endangering safety be lodged against Kielkopf.

He is also being detained on a probation hold, as he was placed on probation in December of 2020 for two years after a felony charge against him was reduced to a misdemeanor in a plea bargain.

The victims are females ages 24 and 25, and a male aged 27 years.

The scene of the disturbance was managed by the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department, Michicot Police, Two Rivers Police and Mishicot Ambulance, with the public safety responses coordinated by the Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center.
