WHITELAW – The state Department of Transportation (DOT) Northeast Region will host a public construction update meeting to discuss the upcoming U.S. 10 resurfacing project in Manitowoc and Calumet counties.

The 19.9-mile project extends from the intersection of U.S. 10 and State 57/32 in Forest Junction in Calumet County to the intersection of State 310 and County R in Manitowoc County east of Branch.

No roadway work will take place in the City of Brillion or the Village of Reedsville. Work begins this May and is expected to finish in October of this year.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Village of Whitelaw municipal building, 147 W. Menasha Avenue, Whitelaw.

A brief presentation will be given at 5:15 p.m. After the presentation, the meeting will follow an open-house format.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public with construction information. DOT staff will review project details, discuss construction staging and traffic impacts, and provide access information for properties in the project work zone.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to view project exhibits and displays, discuss improvements with project staff and ask questions.

Project plans include resurfacing of the highway, various culvert repairs and replacements, and vision corner grading. In the Village of Whitelaw, work will include storm sewer, curb ramps, and concrete pavement repair. U.S. 10 traffic will be detoured during work in Whitelaw. Other work will be conducted under traffic using lane closures.

This is a public information meeting, with DOT staff available to meet personally with affected citizens, business people and property owners.
