WHITELAW - The state Department of Transportation is warning motorists that U.S. 10 will be closed to traffic in Whitelaw next week for significant pavement repairs.

Crews will be repairing pavement on U.S. 10 between Hickory Street and Chestnut Lane in the village of Whitelaw beginning 7 a.m., Monday, May 17, and continuing through 4 p.m., Friday, May 21

Westbound and eastbound U.S. 10 will be closed to all traffic between Hickory Street and Chestnut Lane.

A detour will direct westbound U.S. 10 traffic to continue to the Waldo/County JJ exit in Manitowoc and take County JJ west to County J in Clarks Mills, and follow CountyJ north to U.S. 10 in Cato.

Eastbound U.S. 10 motorists should take County J south from 10 in Cato to CountyJJ in Clarks Mills, and then take JJ east to I-43/U.S.10.

Local motorists familiar with the area may find shorter routes using local roads.
