Area wrestlers advance past regionals

Area wrestlers advanced past regional competition and qualified for next weekend's sectional competition.


Division 2 Regional at Denmark


Luxemburg-Casco and Denmark took first and second in team points to qualify for team sectionals. Wrightstown and Brillion finished third and fourth respectively. The top four individuals qualified for next weekend's sectionals.


Brillion


Logan Mueller took first place at 106 pounds. He beat Jake Landrin (Luxemburg-Casco) 11-5 in the first-place match.


Bob Huntley took first at 120 pounds. He beat Isaac Jerabek (Luxemburg-Casco) 5-1 in the first-place match.


Damon Schmidt took first at 220 pounds. He pinned Josh Wensink (Oostburg) in 3:32 in the first-place match.


The Lions had two other wrestlers qualify for sectionals. Trenton Nicklaus (126 pounds) took third place and Cashton Miller (152) took fifth place.


Chilton-Hilbert


Logan See took first at 285 pounds. He beat Ben Roman (Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol) in the first-place match.


Wrightstown


Nick Alexander took first place at 152 pounds. He beat Nash Banko (Oostburg) 3-2 in the first-place match.


Four other Tigers qualified for sectionals. Everett Koltz (113 pounds), Owen Krueger (145) and Sam Keuler (220) took fourth place. Jacob Durocher (138) took second place.


Division 3 Regional at Weyauwega


Reedsville qualified for team sectionals by taking second at the Division 3 regional at Weyauwega. Shiocton took first.


Reedsville individuals


Ten Reedsville wrestlers qualified for individual sectionals.


Carson Taddy took first place at 152 pounds. He beat Colten Schuh (Shiocton) 1-0 in the first-place match.


Logan Lodel (160 pounds), Casey Braun (170) and Jade Busse (285) took second. Sam Schmalz (113), Tristen Verbeten (126), Deegan Bubolz (138), Ayden Sebo (145) and Adler Strenn (195) took third. Ethyn Sebo (132) took fourth.
