Bi-partisan racial disparity task force seeks citizen members

The Brillion News

MADISON – The creation of a new Speaker’s Task Force on Racial Disparity, announced by Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, got sudden bi-partisan credibility when Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, R-Kaukauna, announced that Representative Shelia Stubbs, D-Madison, would co-chair the task force with him.

The mission of the task force was described as working to end racial disparities that exist at every age and in every aspect of a person’s life across the State of Wisconsin.

The task force is seeking citizen members from across the state.

An e-mail address was created where community members can apply to be on the task force. Individuals can send their statement of interest and resume to SpeakersTaskForce@legis.wisconsin.gov.

The task force will be accepting applications through Friday, September 18; appointments will be finalized soon after that date.
