Boys basketball: Regional schedule

All three area boys basketball teams are in action tonight, Friday, March 7, in WIAA regional semifinal games. All games start at 7 p.m.

Division 2

No. 4 Brillion will host No. 5 Plymouth in a matchup of teams who compiled overall regular season records of 17-7.

The winner will advance to Saturday’s regional final against the winner of No. 1 Green Bay Notre Dame and No. 8 Luxemburg-Casco.

Division 4

No. 6 Reedsville will play at conference rival No. 3 Howards Grove. It’s the third meeting of the teams this season. Howards Grove (21-3) won 80-48 on Dec. 17 and 65-56 on Jan. 31.

The Panthers (16-9) blew out Valley Christian 92-44 on Tuesday to advance.

It was a scoring fest for Reedsville including Ben Prochnow 30, Arden Strenn 20, Jack Schwahn 12, Parker Maney 10, Nate Christensen 4, Gavin Dvorachek 3, Landon Maertz 3, Sawyer Ubersox 2, Logan Maertz 2, Will Taddy 2, Carter Preston 2 and Zach Prochnow 2.

Division 5

No. 12 Hilbert (8-17) will play at No. 4 Sheboygan Christian (12-13).

The Wolves beat No. 5 Gillett 64-52 on Tuesday night, which was the first playoff win since 2023, and the first playoff win for 2017 alumni Connor Kuhn as head coach.

Hilbert scorers in the win against Gillett were Drew Halbach 17, Ari Sevela 12, Nate Huettl 11, Brody Hein 10, Jack Pakala 7, Elliott Sheets 4 and Luis Pena 3.

Sheboygan Christian beat No. 13 Gibraltar 65-38 on Tuesday.
