CEDARBURG – Parker Sonnabend, Bo Geiger and Isaac Koehler are the three representatives from Brillion on the Brillion-Valders-Chilton swim team. All three qualified for state at last Saturday’s sectional at Cedarburg High School.

Sonnabend qualified for state in two individual events. He broke the team 200 IM record again with a time of 2:03.92 and finished in third place. He finished in third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.25.

The sophomore, who qualified for state last year, previously broke the team records at the conference meet and again at regionals. The 200 IM consists of 50 yards of each stroke in the order of fly, backstroke, breaststroke and finishes with a freestyle.

The team of Sonnabend, Koehler, Geiger and Chilton’s Payton Van Rooy qualified for state, and broke a team record, with a time of 1:45.45 in the 200-medley relay.

The swimmers will compete in the 2018 State Swimming and Diving Championships at the UW Natatorium in Madison on Friday.
