REEDSVILLE – The man who will replace Reedsville High School Principal and Superintendent Tony Butturini is an old face in the area.

Kristoffer Brown, who spent time with the Brillion School District from 2008 to 2011 in the mathematics department, was approved for the position at Monday night’s Reedsville board meeting.

“As other opportunities came about, we moved around the state and realized that’s the thing that was missing was being back home,” Brown said.

Brown has an extensive resume with principal experience in Three Lakes and is the current business administrator and technology director for the Platteville Public Schools.

Brown was in Reedsville on Monday night with his wife, Emily, and their two young children. Emily was a special education aide in Brillion and currently teaches fifth-grade in Platteville.

“We grew up in Central Wisconsin in a small town called Manawa over by Stevens Point … that resembles a lot of the communities around here,” Brown said.

Brown went to college at St. Norbert for his undergraduate degree and his first master’s degree. Then he attended UW-Milwaukee and earned another master’s degree and specialist certification.

“We’ve made a nice little triangle around (the state) and back and every experience has been a good one,” Brown said.

Brown was first hired by Platteville Public Schools as the Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center Principal. He was recently one of five finalists for the district’s superintendent position.

Brown will assist in the school district’s audit in July and August, since they have a new superintendent and business manager.

Butturini is scheduled to officially retire from the Reedsville School District on Sept. 15.

Communication is key

Brown says that one of the most important parts of his new role will be communication with the Reedsville community.
