CHILTON – On Tuesday morning, May 7, the Calumet County Board’s Protection of Persons and Property (PPP) Committee will do its final review of plans for a $29 million project to build a new jail and sheriff’s office addition on the northwest corner of the county courthouse.

The committee meets at 8:30 a.m. Three items are targeted for possible action:

  1. Review and approve position description for chief deputy/jail administrator.

  2. Discuss and recommend final design of jail building, interior square footage, and general layout and exterior concept.

  3. Discuss and approve resolution for construction of county jail building and courthouse.

There may be an opportunity for members of the public to speak. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will be held in room 017 (basement meeting room) of the courthouse. It can be accessed via Entrance B on the west side of the courthouse addition. Stairs and elevators are available to get to the basement from that entrance.
