BRILLION – Customers of the pharmacy at the Brillion Shopko Hometown retail store are being told that the pharmany there is closing. The remainder of the store is not affected, although nothing is off the table as the corporation goes through restructuring under the supervision of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

The bankruptcy is being handled in the Nebraska Federal Bankruptcy Court.

A corporate communications official, Michelle Hansen, confirmed the Brillion pharmacy closing by saying “all pharmacies will be closing as a part of the bankruptcy.”

The chain declared bankruptcy last week.

On Wednesday, January 23, at 9 a.m., an auction for the Shopko Pharmacy Assets will take place at the offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, a major Chicago law firm dealing with corporate law, including business restructuring.

The closing of the Shopko pharmacy in Brillion would leave the community without a retail pharmacy.

Brillion does have a Bellin Health Family Medical Center. Similar Bellin clinics in Wrightstown and De Pere have retail pharmacy operations, but the Brillion clinic does not.
