BRILLION – Kids From Wisconsin, a two-hour, Broadway style production featuring talented youth from around the state, hits the stage at the Endries Performing Arts Center Thursday night, June 27, at 7 p.m.
“A Kids From Wisconsin performance will have something for people of all ages,” Executive Director Tina Weiss said.
Weiss says that the show includes music from yesteryear and today’s top hits.
Kids From Wisconsin is in its 51st year of touring, and Brillion is the only show in the area this year.
“Brillion is very lucky to be one of our stops,” Weiss said.
That is a two-way street, too.
“Brillion’s community obviously has a love for the arts with their beautiful Endries PAC. There is not a performance in Green Bay this year, which makes Brillion a very good location,” Weiss said.
Kids From Wisconsin has been connected to Brillion since 2016 Brillion High School graduate Hope Klessig toured with the group three years ago. They’ve had a show in Brillion since.
A tradition of Kids is for the group to recognize a “hometown Kid” like when Klessig performed in Brillion. Without a show in Green Bay this year, Thursday will mark the “hometown” show for Bay Port High School senior Anya Barstow of Suamico. She was a member of the State Honors Orchestra and named to the State Honors Choir.
The youth performers with the group were chosen from across the state last February. The group had more than 300 applicants.
