MANITOWOC - In a game that will likely help decide the Eastern Wisconsin Conference and will be one of the most memorable games of the 2025 season, Brillion beat Roncalli 22-14 on Friday night in Manitowoc.
Heath Cousin scored all three of Brillion's touchdowns with a run of 65 yards on the second play of the game and a 96-yard run later i the first quarter to give Brillion a 14-0 lead.
After Roncalli made a comeback, Cousin caught a 49-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Shimek, one play after Shimek recorded an interception on defense. That play, and a conversion run by Hayden Cousin, put the Lions up eight and in control of the final minutes of the game.
"Everyone knew that this was a big game, and we just came in with the intention that we were going to give it our all, and we did, and I'm proud of our guys for that," Heath Cousin said.
Brillion improved to 5-1 overall this season with the win and will host New Holstein in the team's homecoming game next Friday.
Complete coverage of Week 6 of the football season will be in the print edition of The Brillion News.
