Lorenz to play in March Madness

March 17, 2025

The Brillion News

Jeremy Lorenz, the Brillion boys basketball program’s all-time leading scorer and 2023 state champion, will play in the NCAA tournament this week.

Lorenz, a sophomore at Wofford University, has averaged nearly eight points and four rebounds per game this season in 34 games and 12 starts.

The Terriers are a No. 15 seed and will play No. 2 Tennessee at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. It will be broadcast on TNT with announcers Brian Anderson (TV voice of the Milwaukee Brewers), Jim Jackson and Allie LaForce.

Wofford (19-15) beat Furman 92-85 in the Southern Conference title game on March 10 to earn an automatic bid for the tournament. Lorenz scored eight points in the win.

The winner will play the winner of the No. 7 UCLA and No. 10 Utah State game.

Tennessee beat Wofford 82-61 on Nov. 14, 2023, in one of Lorenz’s first Division 1 games. He scored six points in 21 minutes in that game.

Lorenz holds the distinction as the only Brillion boy to reach the Division I level. He had previously told The Brillion News that the opportunity to play in March Madness is part of the reason he chose Wofford over other schools who had recruited him.

Interestingly, while many platforms claim to connect people, only a few succeed in becoming a genuine social hub—a space where users don’t just consume content, but also contribute meaningfully. These hubs act as incubators for creativity, collaboration, and grassroots influence, reminding us that the true power of the internet lies in its ability to unite, empower, and amplify voices that matter.

At the heart of this evolution lies the concept of an online community—a place where like-minded individuals gather, not just to scroll, but to engage. These communities foster a unique blend of anonymity and identity, offering safe spaces for honest dialogue and collaboration. Whether it's discussions about culture, politics, or hobbies, users are actively looking to share ideas with the community in ways that feel authentic and impactful.

Over the past few years, there’s been a noticeable shift toward platforms that function as more than just a social networking site. People now seek spaces that promote discovery, conversations, and grassroots interactions. What was once limited to following friends and influencers has now matured into complex ecosystems where individuals share content, debate ideas, and even drive change.
