Meetings focus on new Brown County bridge

DE PERE - The Brown County Planning Department is hoilding two public hearings this week to get input on the proposed South Brown County Bridge over the Fox River.

The bridge would cross the Fox between De Pere and Wrightstown, and would connect the east side of the river to I-41 where County S (Freedom Road) currently interchanges with 41.

The first hearing will be he held ON-LINE from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, on YouTube Live at https://youtu.be/E69wyE_e5lg.


Those without access to YouTube may call in and listen along at 920-785-5851, conference ID 91959483#. The phone number will only be active for listening during the hearing.


The virtual public hearing will begin with a pre-recorded informational project presentation prior to accepting public and private testimony from the public.

The same presentation will be used for the in-person public hearing as well.

Once the public hearing begins, please call the following number to be placed in the queue for either public or private testimony: 920-492-7705 or email South.bridge.connector@browncountywi.gov

There will be a general question and answer session immediately following the presentation and before public testimony begins. Those general questions can be submitted via YouTube chat or via the project email during the virtual event.  A recording of the public hearing will be posted on the website shortly after the hearing.

The second hearing will be in-person only. It will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, at the Brown County Fairgrounds, 1500 Fort Howard Avenue, in De Pere.

There will be numerous displays on the proposed project.
