OBITUARY: Bertrandt V. Zarnoth

Bertrandt V. Zarnoth “Bert" age 87, a lifelong resident of Reedsville, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at home.


He was born to Peter and Hildegarde (Olm) Zarnoth on June 3, 1934. He graduated from Reedsville High School in 1952, where his favorite class was band. Bert enlisted in the U.S Army where he worked as an airplane mechanic. He was employed as a machinist at Eastman Mfg., which became Parker, for more than 46 years. Bert built projects of wood and metal all his life until he was diagnosed with ALS. He volunteered at Pinecrest Historical Village, Holy Family Church, and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed the Packers, cribbage, fishing, dancing, bowling and sheepshead. He also delivered Meals on Wheels to the area residents. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy whom he married June 9, 1962 at St. Augustine Church in Riefs Mills. His children, Dean (Goldie) Zarnoth, Dawn (John) Bina, Jodi (Jeff) Hirsch, Jill (Rich) Jarvis, and Scot (Andriea) Zarnoth. Grandchildren: Kayla Mueller, Zachery (Janessa) Zarnoth, Christopher Hirsch, Katie Bina, Hayley Hirsch, Jared Jarvis, Peter Bina, Mackenzie Zarnoth and Olivia Zarnoth. Great grandchild: Mia Zarnoth. Brother Peter (Betty) Zarnoth, sister Darlene Sheehy and brother-in-law George Jelich. Also Dorothy's family: Cecelia (Leo) Kuehnl, Eugene (Barb) Dvorachek, Robert Dvorachek, David (Pat) Dvorachek, James (Phyllis) Dvorachek, Bernard (Rosie) Dvorachek, Michael Dvorachek and Karen (Bill) Suggitt. Bert was preceded in death by his brother Delmar (Betty) Zarnoth, sisters Carol (Wally) Olp, Marilyn Jelich and sisters-in-law Sharon Dvorachek and JoAnn Dvorachek. Visitation will be Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville. The visitation will continue on Monday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating will be Father Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Reedsville. Military Rites will be accorded by the AmVets Post 1032 of Reedsville. The family thanks Holy Family Hospice, especially Roxanne, Tammy, and Nicole for the wonderful care given to Bert. Also, to Lynn Tamm who was a blessing during this time. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
