Obituary: Donald W. Phillip

Donald W. Phillip, age 78 of Reedsville, passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 13, 2025 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Don was born in Maple Grove on April 19, 1947 to George and Viola (Feil) Phillip. He attended St. Patrick's School in Maple Grove and graduated with the class of 1965 from Reedsville High School. Donald proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army. On December 5, 1970 he was united in marriage to Judith A. Severson at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reedsville. Judy preceded him in death June 7, 2014.

Don worked as a heavy equipment operator for Valders Lime & Stone for many years; he also worked as an automobile salesman for several GM Dealers, and retired as a Motor Coach Operator with Nationwide Travelers. After retirement, he enjoyed driving school bus for Kobessen Buses in the Reedsville and Brillion Communities. Donny was a lifetime member of Reedsville Amvets Post #1032 and an active member of their Honor Guard; he enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers; and loved attending many of ReedsvilleHigh School's sporting events. Don loved kids, and enjoyed all family gatherings, especially getting together with the cousins.

 

Survivors include his special friend, Mary Ann Krogh; one daughter & son-in-law, Danielle (Mike) Tortorice; two grandchildren: James Phillip and Zoe Judith; two sisters & a brother-in-law: Ruth Noack and Colleen (Roger) Meidl; sister-in-law, Sandy; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Phillip; his wife, Judy Phillip; one brother & sister-in-law, John (Michelle) Phillip; and one sister & two brothers-in-law: Audrey (Jim) Ebert, and Jack Ebert.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Colle, assisted by a nephew, Deacon Randy Meidl. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove at a later date. Military graveside honors will be held at the church immediately following the mass by members of Reedsville Amvets Post #1032.

 

The family will greet friends and relatives at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire medical staff at Aurora Medical Center, especially the 3rd floor nursing staff; and the caregivers of Aurora Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion extended to Don. Special thanks also to the members of Reedsville 1st Responders and Valders Ambulance Service for their dedicated, professional service provided.
