Obituary: Francis “Frank” R. Svatek

Francis “Frank” R. Svatek, age 87, a Brillion resident, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.


He was born on July 10, 1934 in Reedsville, son of the late Joseph and Clara (Cisler) Svatek. Frank was a graduate of Reedsville High School, Class of 1954.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1957 until 1959. Frank was employed at Ariens Company for 37 years, retiring in 1996. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville, and a current member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Frank enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and walking whenever he could. He especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Dianna (Jeff) Trang, Keller, Texas; four grandchildren: Kathleen, Jason, Amy (Erick), and Allen; 2 great grandchildren with one more due in February; a sister: Clara Svatek, Manitowoc; one brother and three sisters-in-law: John (Ardyce) Svatek, Brillion, Jean Svatek, St. Petersburg, FL, and Mary Beth Svatek, Mobile, Alabama; and mother of his children: Sigrid Burke, Huntsville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: John Svatek; a brother: Joe Svatek, one sister and brother-in-law: Mary (Robert) Newton, two infant sisters, and one infant brother.

Private Funeral Services were held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial was Rev. Tom Pomeroy. Military Honor were accorded by the AmVets Post 1032 of Reedsville. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Reedsville at a later date. Online condolences may be made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
