George R. Krepline, age 85, a Hilbert resident, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.
He was born on August 4, 1937 in Brillion, son of the late Helmuth and LaVerna (Woldt) Krepline. George married Carol Schreiber on November 23, 1955 at St. John – St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. He farmed and was employed at Brillion Iron Works for 42 years, retiring in 1997. George also owned and operated Krepline Livestock for 25 years. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and birdwatching and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Carol Krepline, Hilbert; his children: George Krepline Jr., Michael (Debra) Krepline, Bryan (Jeannine) Krepline, Pamela (Ronald) Schaefer, all of Brillion, Debra (David) Kalies, Kaukauna, Patrick (Karen) Krepline, Brillion, Dawn Huisman, Appleton, and her significant other Jeff McGowan; his grandchildren: Cathy Siegwarth, Kelly (Mark) Lemke, Jesse (Kayla) Krepline, Cody (Tracy) Krepline, Stacy Kornowske, Christopher (Amanda) Liebzeit, Ashley Liebzeit, Brent (Taylor) Liebzeit, Quentin (Beth) Krepline, Kayla Krueger, Casondra Krepline (significant other Dave Van Handel), Jason (Terry) Schaefer, Nicole (Scott) O’Connell, Jeremy Schaefer, Craig (Barb) Kalies, Casey Kalies, Ashley Krepline (Ali), Courtney Krepline (Tai), Adam Huisman (Cassie), Christopher Huisman (Shannon); and 34 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: William (Joyce) Krepline, Hilbert, LeRoy (Barb) Krepline, Reedsville, Rose Ann (Fred) Kozelek, New Frankin and a sister-in-law: Judy Havel, Two Rivers. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Chad Siegwarth and Nathan Krepline; his parents: Helmuth and LaVerna (Woldt) Krepline; siblings: Anton (Delores) Krepline, Gerhardt (Sharon) Krepline, Alice Krepline; in-laws: Stephen (Arlene) Schreiber, Stanley Schreiber, Dolores Blashka, William Schreiber, Patricia Schreiber, Mary Schreiber, Mary Ann Schreiber; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edmund and Hildegarde (Geiger) Schreiber.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert. Officiating the Service was Rev. Mark Peterson with burial at Brillion Community Cemetery. The family greeted relatives and friends at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2023. Friends also called Monday morning at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences were made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
