Glen R. Korstad, age 82, a Reedsville resident, died Thursday morning, October 13, 2022 at The Bay at Northridge, Manitowoc.
He was born February 28, 1940 in Valders, son of the late Otis and Ruth (Thone) Korstad. Glen attended Valders High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1963 – 1965. On November 25, 1967 he married the former Bonita “Bonnie” Krepline at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2014. Glen was employed at Tecumseh in New Holstein for 35 years, retiring in 2002 at the age of 62. He also worked at the dump in the Town of Maple Grove. Glen enjoyed bus tours, walking, fishing, hunting and couples bowling with Bonnie.
Survivors include his children: Rick (Kristin) Korstad, Reedsville, Lisa (Jason) Connell, Reedsville, Sheila (Brian) Pelnar, Mishicot, Donna (Patrick) Brunner, Manitowoc, Wendy (Steven) Kuenstler, Valders; his grandchildren: Dakota, Taylor (special friend Madalyn), Levi and Blake Korstad, Nathan, Mara, Noah Connell, Megan (Mitchell) Gierke, Zachary Birringer, Aiden Pelnar, Ava, Liam & Callen Brunner, Carter and Lydia Kuenstler; two great grandchildren: Owen and Riley Gierke; siblings and in-laws: Dorothy Peterman, Janis Waier, Al Korstad, Marlene Korstad, Judy (Terry) Brandenburg, Marian Korstad, Barbara Korstad, Jim (Carol) Krepline, Eunice (Dennis) Schroeder, Kenny (Betty) Krepline, Vic (Barb) Krepline, Verna (Dave) Mathiebe, Vern (Marcia) Krepline, Joy (Mike) Buboltz, and Kim (Steve) Denor. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was also preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Shirley Korstad, Melvin Korstad, JoAnn Korstad, Dale Korstad, Dennis Korstad, Francis Peterman, Jerry (Linda) Krepline and and Judy Korstad.
Funeral Services were held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 17, 2022 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. Officiating at the Service was the Rev. Robert Weiss with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Military Rites were accorded by the Reedsville AmVets Post 1032. The family greeted relatives and friends at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins, from 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 until 11:45 a.m.
