Obituary: Helen M. Diedrick

Our beautiful mom, Helen M. Diedrick, 88, Wrightstown, passed away in the early morning on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She is in the arms of Jesus. We can only imagine her joy today! Please pray for the repose of her beautiful Soul. We love her so much and are going to miss her beyond words.



Helen was born December 17, 1934 in Green Bay, daughter to the late Anton and Sophia (Lamers) Nelessen. She graduated from Wrightstown High School, and married Richard Diedrick on August 2, 1955. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage before his passing on April 23, 2009.

She was a lifelong, devoted member of St. Paul/St. Claire Parish in Wrightstown, where she was a Pastoral Associate, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, Homebound Minister, Prayer Chain, member of the Christian Mothers Society and Martha Choir.

Helen loved gardening, crocheting, sewing, bowling, dancing, bike riding, also going to children's and grandchildren's numerous activities.

She will be deeply missed by her 7 children: Dianne (Carl) Mooren, De Pere; Dorene (Ken) Schuster, Brillion; Daniel Diedrick, Greenleaf; Dennis (Linda) Diedrick, Green Bay; David (Susan) Diedrick, De Pere, Dean (Sharon) Diedrick, De Pere; and Duane (Diane) Diedrick, Wrightstown; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law, Rita Nelessen and Dolly Gerhartz.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers: Norb, Urban, Clarence, Eugene, Bob, and Jim Nelessen; sisters: Ruth Vande Hey, Marie Vosters, Milly Newhouse, Eunice Vosters, Dolores Van Camp, and Dolly Meulemans; father and mother-in-law George and Agnes Diedrick; brother-in-law Lawrence; sister-in-law Germaine; as well as many other members of the Nelessen and Diedrick families; and Mom's special friend, Jim VanVreede.


Family and friends may visit St. Clare Parish-St. Paul site, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 8 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11 a.m., with Fr. Brian Wideman and Monsignor John Schuh officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Malcore Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family would like to extend a loving, special thank you to the caring staff at Promedica/Heartland Hospice, especially Traci, Rachelle, Christina, Jess, Holly, Nadyne and Chaplain William, for their loving care and compassion shown to Helen and her family throughout this journey.

We are also extremely grateful for her special caregiver Britney--owner of Age in Place, for the kindness and love shown to Mom and all of us. We would also like to thank Ruth for her care. Special thanks to to Fr. Brian and Monsignor John Schuh.
