OBITUARY: Keith Schwalenberg

Keith Schwalenberg passed on from this life June 1, 2018 after nearly a decade of declining health.

He is survived by his wife Vivian, daughter Karmin (Chris/Fr. Moses), three grandchildren Hannah, Noah, and Judah, sister Doryn, brother Terry (Mary), nieces Megan and Lauren, brother Kurt, as well as a number of steadfast and faithful friends. Keith was born and raised in Wisconsin on the farm that he loved.  He attended Concordia University in River Forest, graduating as a teacher with a B.A. in History and Geography.  After teaching for a short time, his love for the outdoors compelled him back to the farm. He worked the land with his brother Terry, and undertook migratory beekeeping, which became his life-long occupation. He reveled in the beauty of agrarian life, in all of its seasons. He cherished every moment with his grandchildren and their hearts are deeply connected to him.  Spending time with their Papa will always be a highlight of their lives.  Beyond all these things, his greatest love was Jesus Christ and study of the Bible.  His quest for Truth and desire to commune with God was the hallmark of his life.  His drive for everyone to come to Christ was evident to all.  Eternal life with God was his deepest hope and beginning his heavenly existence is the culmination of his earthly purpose.  Funeral services are set for 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church (181 Main St.) in Potter. Friends may call at the church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on the day of the service. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Chilton. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Keith Schwalenberg’s name.
