Larry Jay Reese, age 70, passed away after a 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on March 9, 2021 at Garrow Villa, Brillion.
He was born February 4, 1951 to the late William and Elaine (Jepson) Reese, in Elgin, Illinois.
Larry graduated from Elgin High School and soon after attained a culinary arts degree from UW Stevens Point. Larry later married the late Carolyn Christenson on November 13, 1976, who preceded him in death in 2010 . Carolyn and Larry operated a Dairy Queen store in Elgin for three years before moving to Brillion. Larry then went on to work for Endries Fastener & Supply for the next 28 years, until the progression of his M.S. forced him to retire early. Larry loved to fish and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed his time as a "Big Brother".
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; parents, William and Elaine; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Reese.
Survivors include: a sister, Maureen Atencio (Las Vegas, NV); a brother, Patrick Reese (Elgin, IL). In addition, he is survived by special friends Leroy and Sandie Koch, many cousins and friends.
A sincere thank-you to the entire staff at Garrow Villa, especially April Schubbe, for her loving care and compassion over the past 10 years. Also to the Home Health Care and Hospice care team, for their supportive and meaningful care of Larry, during the past 10 months. In addition, to Dr. Romenesko and staff for their sensitivity and giving nature.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Larry has been cremated and burial will take place in the Brillion Community Cemetery.
