Obituary: Lori L. Nushart

Lori L. Nushart, age 56, a Brillion resident, died Wednesday evening, September 21, 2022 at her residence. Lori passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family.


She was born on August 24, 1966 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Donald & Carol (Richter) Holtz. Lori was a graduate of Brillion High School, Class of 1984 and received her Associate Degree from Fox Valley Technical School. On September 28, 1985 she married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth “Ken” Nushart at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Woodville. Lori was the office manager at Black Dog Machine before she was no longer able to work. She started her working careering helping her mother at the Forest Junction Café, went on to work at Ariens, Guardian Life, and the machine shop in Brillion that was later purchased by Black Dog, and also helped her mom again at Deer Run. Lori also sold Lia Sophia and was in a dart league.

Lori was a longtime advocate of Lyme Disease and was on the Lyme Disease Board of Wisconsin. Lori also enjoyed scrapbooking, making cards, and was amazing at adding a personal touch to everything she did. She especially loved to fish and sit around the campfire with friends and family. She and her husband Ken completed their dream cabin last summer with the help of many family, friends and area businesses.

Survivors include her husband: Ken Nushart; twin sons: Jake “Big Ern”, Jeremy “Grub” and their youngest son: Josh “Schpinly”, all of Brillion; a brother and sister-in-law: Kurt (Linda) Holtz from Neillsville; a sister and brother-in-law: Angela (Tim) Brey from Manitowoc; in-laws: Jim (Carol) Nushart, Little Chute and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Brian (Cheri) Nushart, Joe (Aimee) Nushart, all of Kaukauna. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many awesome friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) September 29, 2022 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church, Potter. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod. The funeral will be live streamed at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church Facebook Page. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (TODAY) afternoon until the time of the service. Online condolences may be made.

The family would like to share a special thank you to the Cancer Center of Appleton Oncology Group and Dr. Kristen Brockdorf for their friendship and care. They showed extreme compassion and care, can't thank the team enough. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
