Obituary: Lorraine Anna (Clavers) Giese

Lorraine Anna (Clavers) Giese, age 104 years, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Woodside Lutheran Home, Green Bay.


She was born on April 26, 1921 in the town of Brillion, daughter of the late Theodore and Caroline (Steinbach) Clavers. Lorraine graduated from Brillion High School, Class of 1939. On November 13, 1946 she married Earl J. Giese at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion.  Together they farmed in the town of Maple Grove.  He preceded her in death on April 17, 2001. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Brillion, Catholic Knights and Christian Mothers Society. Lorraine liked to read, play sheepshead, bingo, rummy, embroidery and listen to polka music.


Lorraine is survived by a daughter: Marian Yassin (special friend Craig Trinkl) and her children: Sandra Yassin, Susan (Peter) Agrimson; sons and daughters-in-law: Roman (Sandra) Giese and their children: Michelle (Peter) Yurek, Matthew (Christa) Giese; Gary (Kim) Giese and their children: Justin (Heather) Burns, Jessie (Dusty) Vans; and Gerald (Barb) Giese and their children: Jonathon (Abby) Giese and Lucas (Kelly) Giese. She is further survived by ten great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and two brothers and sisters-in-law: Francis (Gladys) Clavers and Jerome (Florence) Clavers; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Cora (Arthur) Grall, Mary (Victor) Frelich and Roman Giese.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion.   Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Fr. Matthew Colle with Deacon Greg Van Thiel assisting.   A luncheon will follow the service at church with burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Kasson.  


The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00AM until 10:45AM on Monday, April 6, 2026 when brief family rites will be held. 


The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home, Green Bay, especially Tobi, Sam, Camrie and Blaine, McCormick Home and Unity Hospice for the wonderful care extended to our mother.
