Obituary: Lorraine Dickert

Lorraine Dickert, age 95, of New Holstein, died peacefully at her home on May 1, 2022. Lorraine was born on July 30, 1926, in the town of Rantoul, the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Wunrow) Jandrey. She was baptized on August 22, 1926 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul and confirmed in her faith on April 2, 1939 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Collins. She married Willard Dickert on June 26, 1954, at St. John St James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Lorraine and Willard farmed in the Town of Maple Grove until their retirement in 1985.



Lorraine was a long-time member of St. John St James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. As all her family can attest, she enjoyed baking, especially her famous chocolate chip cookies and Special K bars.



Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law Nancy and Mark Wiechman of Madison Lake Minnesota, Karen and Jerry Vandermause of Kiel, Linda and Jim Lorenz of Deforest; 10 grandchildren Matthew (Carol) Wiechmann, Daniel (Tristan) Wiechmann, Michael (Kristy) Wiechman, Philip (Rebekah) Vandermause, Eric (Angela) Vandermause, Tony Vandermause, Greg (Melissa) Vandermause, Jordan (Katie) Lorenz, Amanda (Cody) Playter, Alexia (Brandon) Schmitt; 26 great grandchildren and one due in May; sisters-in-law Sophia Jandrey, Muriel Jandrey, and Cheryle Jandrey. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Willard Dickert on December 3, 1988; one great grandchild Norah Vandermause; her sister Doris Jandrey; brothers Glenroy, her twin brother Lawrence, Charles, Eugene, Donald, and William Jandrey; sisters-in-law Janice, Audrey, Lucy, and Shirley Jandrey; nephews Daniel and Lyle Jandrey, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. John St. James EV. Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Darin Aden with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m.
