Obituary: Mark J. Propson

Mark J. Propson, age 60, of Potter, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2024 at Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Two Rivers.




Mark was born on August 16, 1963 in Chilton, son of Mary (Schnell) Propson and the late Raymond “Sugar Ray” Propson.  He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1981.  Mark worked with Gannett Newspaper for over 30 years.  He enjoyed camping, playing cribbage and sheepshead, watching wrestling and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.  Most of all, he enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with his family and friends.

Mark is survived by his mom: Mary of Hilbert; his sisters and brothers-in-law: JoAnn (Paul) Koeck of Hilbert, Katherine (Mike) Blashka of Reedsville, Rosemary Bubolz of Murfreesboro, TN, and Gloria (Jim) Bubolz of Reedsville; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his father: Raymond, one sister and brother-in-law: Lynn Propson and Jerry Liebzeit; paternal grandparents: Elmer and Amelia Propson; maternal grandparents: Joe and Clara Schnell; aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 16, 2024 at Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion.  Officiating at the service will be Deacon Greg Van Thiel.  Private Burial will take place in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Kiel.  

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Per the family’s request, Mark would want everyone to be comfortable, so please dress in casual attire.

The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
