Obituary: Marlis M. Trochta



Marlis M. Trochta, age 86, formerly of Brillion, passed away Friday evening, January 26, 2024 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.


Marlis was born on May 5, 1937 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Walter and Renata (Stever) Woldt. She was a graduate of De Pere High School. On July 18, 1959 she married John R. Trochta at Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2019. Marlis was employed with H&R Block for 25 years and then was the Executive Director for the Brillion Housing Authority until her retirement. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison and a current member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion. She was a member of the Ladies Aid for church and also volunteered to serve lunches and work in the libraries at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and School in Brillion and Manitowoc Lutheran High School. Marlis was a cat lover and also enjoyed bird watching. She enjoyed taking road trips with her husband John all over the United States and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Marlis also enjoyed reading, bowling, playing cards and going out to restaurants with her friends.

 

Survivors include her children: Jeffrey (Lori) Trochta of Kiel, Steven (Jill) Trochta of Brillion, David (Lynn) Trochta of Plymouth, Scott (Jean) Trochta of Brillion, Sandra Trochta of Brillion; her grandchildren: Melissa (Don) Verbaten of Askeaton, Amanda (Grant) Scaife of Milwaukee, Kenzi and Brynn Trochta of Brillion, Cody, Austin and Jocelyn Trochta of Plymouth, Kirsten (special friend Mitch) Trochta of Franklin, Quentin (Jessica) Trochta of Hilbert; five great-grandchildren: Tristan, Henry, Gage, Arthur and Averie; one sister and brother-in-law: Yvonne (John) Zavoshy of California; one nephew: Sheldon Woldt, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Ethel Woldt; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Carl and Rozalie Trochta, and other relatives.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Ross Henzi and Rev. Thomas Fricke. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family greeted relatives and friends at church on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
