OBITUARY: Mary Jane O’Connell

Mary Jane O’Connell, age 71, a resident of the town of Maple Grove, died Friday evening, May 18, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay with her family at her side.


Mary Jane was born on January 15, 1947 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Norman A. and Mary C. (DeVenezio) Pech. She attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1965 from Mishicot High School. On June 21, 1975 Mary was married to Jim O’Connell at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Mary worked at Mirro Aluminum, Old Country and Ariens until her retirement. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove and a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville and Friends of St. Patrick. Mary enjoyed shopping, canning, luncheons with former classmates, weekends in Door County and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband: Jim O’Connell, Reedsville; her three children and spouses: Craig (Joanne) O’Connell, Reedsville and their children: Jana and Claire; Scott (Nicole) O’Connell, Reedsville and their children: Allena and Amya; Kelly (Mark) Fochs, Hilbert and their children: Alissa and Logan; one sister: Gail (Hector) Lopez, Springfield, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dean (Mary Jo) O’Connell, Green Bay; John (Marge) O’Connell, Brillion; Tom (Cindy) O’Connell, Reedsville; Harry (Sandee) O’Connell, Manitowoc; Mary Kay (Terry) Lensmire, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Norman and Mary Pech; grandparents: Adolph (Lily) Pech; Cerio and Elveria DeVenezio; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Adeline and Harry O’Connell; brother-in-law: Dale O’Connell; special aunt: Frances Curley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. David Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Maple Grove. Relatives and friends may call at the St. Patrick Church Building, Maple Grove on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday led by Sr. Gerri Krautkramer to end the visitation. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Luke Hospital, 8th floor in Milwaukee, Dr. Matas Morkevicius and the nursing staff of the 3rd floor ICU at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay, and Sarah of the Aurora Home Care Nursing Team for the compassionate care given to Mary Jane.
