Obituary: Michael J. Auer

Michael J. Auer, age 67, a Brillion resident, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his residence.


He was born on April 16, 1955 in Wisconsin, son of the late John and Jane (Skalecki) Auer. Mike was a graduate of Bonduel High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. On February 23, 1985 he married the former Rose Spatchek in Potter. Mike was employed for over 40 years at Brillion Iron Works until his retirement.

He was a member of the Potter Hunting Club and also the Four Wheeling Club. He enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking and driving tractor.

Survivors include his wife: Rose Auer, Brillion; two daughters and a son-in-law: Lisa (Dennis) Pauliot, Oak Field, Rachel Auer, West Bend; two grandchildren: Cullan Pauliot and Hunter Pauliot; and one brother and sister-in-law: Mark (Mary) Auer, one brother-in-law: Steve Nolte, a goddaughter: Jessica (Michael) Krueger, and many other in-laws and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Suzie Nolte, and a brother-in-law: Jim Spatchek.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion. Officiating at the Service will be Father Tom Pomeroy with burial at Holy Family Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
