Robert “Jet” Schaefer, age 72, of Brillion, passed away on Friday morning, May 31, 2024 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.
Jet was born on December 14, 1951 in Green Bay, son of the late Eugene and Lyn Doris (Keller) Schaefer. He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1970. Jet served our country in the United States Army. On August 6, 1977 he married Denise Breit at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. Jet was employed his entire working career at the Brillion Iron Works, most of which was in the Pattern Shop. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making, and was a wrestling coach for a number of years. Jet was an avid outdoorsman where he would trap shoot, hunt pheasants with his dog, fish in walleye tournaments, and horseback ride. One of his favorite trips was to the Eatons Ranch Wolf, Wyoming. He also enjoyed Summer family trips up to Minocqua and Woodruff. Jet could be found at family events as the “fish fryer,” making sure everyone had enough to eat. Above all, his grandchildren were his joy. He would do anything for them, and often didn’t let on how much pain he was in because of his love for them and his family.
