Obituary: Rose Barribeau

Rose Barribeau, 81, of Brillion, passed away on the morning of February 24, 2026. Rose was born in Appleton on June 14, 1944, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth (Papberg) Loderbauer. 


On June 9, 1964, she married James Clayton Barribeau. They were happily married and spent nearly 60 years together until his death in 2024.

Rose is survived by her son James (Audrey), her son Ed, her son Archie, her daughter Janet (Kevin), her daughter Phyllis, her siblings Paul, Lucille, and Charles, and her in-laws, William and Charlotte Barribeau. Rose was a proud Grandma of nine grandchildren. 

Rose graduated from Kaukauna High School. For many years, she managed the White Clover Cheese store located in Hollandtown. She gained recognition for her embroidered towels. Rose frequently participated in local craft sales, where she showcased her collection of towels, aprons, and blankets.

She had a passion for traveling and enjoyed country music. Alongside Jim, she traveled to destinations such as Branson, Missouri, and Dollywood. Additionally, she enjoyed baking, and she was particularly known for her gingerbread cookies.

In accordance with her wishes, no funeral will be held.

Rose will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. The Barribeau family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of St. Croix Hospice and the staff of Garrow Villa for their compassion, commitment, and exceptional care.
