Obituary: Sandra "Sandi" L. Barth

Sandra “Sandi” L. Barth, age 73, of Reedsville, passed away Wednesday evening, May 28, 2025 at Aurora BayCare of Green Bay, surrounded by her loving family. 


Sandi was born on July 4, 1951 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, daughter of the late Elvin and LaVerne (Behnke) Reese. She was a graduate of Brillion High School with the class of 1969. Sandi then went on to graduate from UW-Stevens Point with a major in education and a minor in art. On August 12, 1972 she married Joseph Barth at St. Marys Catholic Church in Brillion. Sandi was a substitute teacher for various high schools in the area for many years. She later worked at Clarity Care Group Home (now Hearts at Home) until her retirement. Sandi enjoyed many crafts including sewing, painting and wood working. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and fishing. More than anything, Sandi loved spending time with family up North, whether it be around a campfire or watching the sunset on the bay.


 Survivors include her husband: Joseph Barth; their children: Stacey Barth, Stefanie (Scott) Smeltser, Christopher (Amanda) Barth; seven grandchildren: Joseph Smeltser, Jonathan Smeltser, Gabrielle (Anthony) Schaetzer, Bryce Barth, Bryant Barth, Lucas Barth and Madison Hathaway; two great grandchildren: Jerome and Czar Schaetzer; one sister-in-law: Carol Reese. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Lowell Reese; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward and Marcella Barth; and a great nephew: Reese Williams. 


Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Peace United Church of Christ, Brillion. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Wendy Witt and Rev. Nancy Zorn-Micke. Burial will take place at Brillion Community Cemetery at a later date. 


The family greeted relatives and friends on Monday evening, June 2, 2025 at the Pielhop Funeral Home, Brillion, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation continued Tuesday morning at church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
