Obituary: Susan M. Sestak

Susan M. Sestak, age 73, of Kiel died peacefully on Monday morning, March 6, 2023.

Sue was born on February 19, 1950 daughter of the late George and Marion (Hartmann) Christel. She was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1968. Sue married John Bowen who preceded her in death, she then married Joe Sestak who also preceded her in death. She worked for over 12 years at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Kiel before she retired. Sue found a way to always stay busy by herself, whether it was putting puzzles together, quilting rugs, cross stitching, crossword puzzles, or reading. She looked forward to her time she could spend with her family most of all and being with her cats. When Sue could be outdoors you could find her walking the trails or hiking in the woods. Watching a good Hallmark or Western Movie or listening to her 50-60's music which included Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash to name a few were a few more of Sue's favorite things to do.

She is survived by her three children: John Bowen, Johanna Schwartz ( James Besaw) and Dawn Sestak; five grandchildren: Tristen, Quenten, Dylan, Taleah and Austin; a brother and a sister: Diane McTier and Jim (Judy) Christel. Sue is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands.

Per Sue's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 5:00PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home, 815 6th Street, Kiel. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 3:00PM until the time of service at 5:00PM.

The family would like to thank the Aurora Clinic, Kiel, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Aurora Sheboygan Hospital and Aurora at Home Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Sue and our family during her time of need.
