Obituary: Verona M. Grimm

Verona M. Grimm, age 98, of Reedsville, passed away on Monday evening, May 13, 2024 at Brillion West Haven.

 




Verona was born on December 17, 1925 in Woodville, WI, daughter of the late Otto and Amalia (Bratz) Krueger. On June 4, 1946 she married Victor Grimm, Sr., at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Verona helped her husband Vic working his gravel pit and farm. She also would go to other area farms and watch their children while the parents worked their own farmstead. Most importantly she raised her own children and loved spending time with them. She was a member of the St. John-St. James Ladies Aid and the Quilters at church. Verona enjoyed embroidering kitchen towels and gifting them to friends and family. She also made bookmarks and Baptismal gifts. Verona’s specialty was making Schaum Torte for many family and church functions. 

 

Survivors include her children: Judy Long, Perrysburg, OH, Jan Anhalt (special friend Randy Haelfrisch), Reedsville, Victor (Mary) Grimm, Jr., Brillion, Barb (Al) Leist, Manitowoc, Shirley (Darryl) Parkin, Forest Junction; grandchildren: Tiffany (Joe) Anzalone, TX, Jim Sandlin, MI, Micki (Jeremy) Foytik, Reedsville, Craig (Courtney) Anhalt, Reedsville, Naomi Grimm (special friend Paul Brodtke), Reedsville, Victor (Autumn) Grimm, III, Combined Locks, Chad (Amanda) Leist, Two Rivers, Derek (Josie) Leist, Whitelaw, Shannon (Justin) Langbecker, Wausau,

Dylan (Camille) Steinbach, Forest Junctions; great grandchildren: Ashley Benjamin, Courtney (Michael) Steichen, Jordan Anzalone, Jake Sandlin, Dominic Sandlin, Tyler and Brielle Foytik, Cash and Cannon Anhalt, Mark and Trinity Schlorf, Willow Spencer, Jaden and Jenika Grimm, William and Hazel Leist, Adley and Egan Steinbach, Amalia Langbecker; two great great grandchildren: Natalie Benjamin and Patrick Steichen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Fern Wolf, Green Bay, Ronald (Lynn) Grimm, Branch, Karen Blish (special friend Dennis), Manitowoc, Helen Grimm, Reedsville. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Reinhardt and Ella (Pautz) Grimm; two grandchildren: Stephanie and Tom Sandlin; two great grandchildren: Joseph and Shelby Leist; two sisters: Alice (Frank) Haese and Rosie (Harold) Olp; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rose (Elmer) Kroening, Ethel (Lester) Pautz, Lloyd and Fritz Grimm, Doris Polzin and Al Wolf.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thad Flitter. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.

 

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents at Brillion West Haven, the staff of St. Croix Hospice of Fond du Lac and everyone who came to visit mom at home or West Haven for all the kindness and loving care given to Verona.

 

The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Reedsville and Brillion are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
