Old City Hall renovation could happen this summer

BRILLION – Renovation for the former Brillion City Hall building at 130 Calumet Street is likely still months away.

The project could start by the beginning of July at the earliest, according to Brillion Public Works Director Andy Geiger. A timeline for when it would be finished is not in place.

The building still hosts the Brillion Police Department, Brillion Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance, who all deal with limited space. City of Brillion workers moved into the new Brillion City Center in January.

The city has $13,000 in building equipment reserves. Integrated Public Resources (IPR) gave the city a free first month on their lease for the new Brillion City Center which gives the project another $10,000.

Brillion City Administrator Lori Gosz and Geiger recommended to the council that they do not use the entire $13,000 from reserves in the event of future needs. Geiger said his target is $15,000.

“I would not want to exceed that,” Geiger said.
