Reedsville offensive coordinator Ryan McCulley presents a plaque to the team after clinching the 2023 Big East Conference championship. Plaques aren't presented to schools until long after the season is over so the coaching staff temporarily labeled a previous year's title plaque with a 2023 inscription to give the players a chance to celebrate following their 42-7 win on Friday night in Hilbert. HILBERT - The 2023 Big East Conference championship belongs to the Reedsville Panthers.

The Panthers clinched sole possession of this year's conference title with a 42-7 win at Hilbert on Friday night. The team had already earned a playoff appearance for the seventh season in a row.

"It's a great feeling, obviously. We strive to do that every year and to see it happen, it's just an amazing feeling," quarterback Parker Maney said.

Maney continued his dominant scoring spree with two touchdowns in the first quarter, including a 74-yard run.

The Panthers will host Oostburg next Friday night with a chance to end the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record.

Complete coverage of the Reedsville-Hilbert game will be featured in the Oct. 12 print edition of The Brillion News.
