WRIGHTSTOWN - The Wrightstown Village Board will consider a proposal by a Maribel company to engineer a new rail spur into the Wrightstown Industrial Park to serve a new plastics factory that could be built on Quality Court, south of the Bellin Health clinic.
Via Rail of Maribel also would handle development of an application to the state Department of Transportation for a "TEA" (Transportation Economic Assistance) Grant.
According to a proposal from Via Rail to the village, Alliance Plastics needs rail service to off-load plastic resin for their manufacturing processes.
Fire Prevention
The March 16 village board meeting will also consider a proposed "Wrightstown Fire Prevention Code" that would apply to all new construction in the village.
The code also crates a Bureau of Fire Prevention within the fire department, including creating the position of village Fire Marshall under the fire chief.
Under the code, the fire chief, fire marshal a, any other fire department officer and village police officers would have the power to enforce the code with citations of complaints.
The new code would also require commercial or industrial buildings to have "Knox boxes", locked boxes containing a key to the building available only to emergency personnel.
