REEDSVILLE - Reedsville's village president Jesse Walt resigned on Friday morning.

Jesse Walt listens during a meeting on Oct. 10, 2019 in Reedsville, Wis.

"It's a mix of things, to be honest," Walt told The Brillion News. "Obviously the village has been going through some issues with hiring people for our water department and stuff like that ... It is frustrating that we have such big decisions to be made and we can't even get a full board to some of these meetings."

Walt turned in a letter to the village and the village quickly organized a special meeting for Monday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss how the village will proceed.

In the past in similar circumstances, the village has assigned a board member to serve as president.

Walt's term had one year remaining through April 2023.

Walt said the decision was not an easy one and that he has been passionate about the position, but feels it is the best decision for him and his family at this time.

Prior to his term as president, Walt was a trustee for the village.
