Rollover claimed life of Steve Vondracek

ASKEATON – A one-vehicle crash on County PP in the Town of Holland on Wednesday night, November 2, claimed the life of a 22-year old Askeaton-area man.

Stephen D. Vondracek, of the Town of Holland, was alone in the vehicle. He was an employee of Professional Plating, Inc., of Brillion, and The Evergreen Bar and Grill in Morrison.

At about 11:40 p.m., the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of a one vehicle crash on County PP approximately one half mile south of Park Road.

The vehicle was heading northbound on PP when it left the roadway for an unknown reason.  It then struck a culvert and rolled, ejecting the driver.

After he was located in a farm field, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash or other factors remain under investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department Crash Reconstruction unit.

The highway was closed for nearly four hours. Vondracek was a Wrightstown High School alumnus.

Visitation will be at St. Mary Church in Upper Greenleaf from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 6, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 7. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church of St. Clare Parish.
