On Sunday, January 29th at approximately 10:18PM, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office released a Missing and Endangered Person Alert for Daniela Velazquez, age 17. At approximately 11:15 this morning we recovered a body in the 2600 Block of Day Street in the Town of Wrightstown. We believe this to be Daniela Velazquez.

Daniela was last seen Saturday night at 10:30PM. Last person she talked to on her phone was a friend in Florida at 11:23PM. Sometime between 3AM and 6AM we know that her vehicle was in the ditch on Blake Road south of HWY 96.

Daniela did not show up for work at 10AM Sunday Morning. A State Trooper located Daniela’s vehicle in the ditch about at 2:30 PM and requested a welfare check after finding her phone and shoes outside of the car. The keys and wallet were still inside the vehicle.

Daniela’s mother reported her as missing at 2:41 PM on Sunday.

A drone search began at approximately 4:19 PM.

Yesterday we began checking for surveillance cameras in the area to preserve any video and sent preservation orders to social medial accounts. We began searching the area yesterday on foot and using a Drone from the Green Bay Fire Department. We also used a police K-9 to assist in an area search which produced an article of clothing that matched what she had been wearing. We continued to search until dark.

Today we resumed the search with additional personnel and utilizing snowmobiles and ATVs to cover more area faster and focused the search areas around where the clothing item had been located. Over the last 2 days we searched almost 40 acres east of where the vehicle had been located.

We are continuing to follow up on leads and are awaiting positive identification by the ME’s Office and the results of an autopsy which will be performed later this week. At this time, we do not suspect foul play.

Our sincerest sympathy goes out Daniela’s family and friends. Daniela’s family has requested we respect their privacy during this time of grief.
