Thieves hitting construction sites

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several thefts from construction trailers which occurred in the Town of Ledgeview and Village of Bellevue.

In all these cases, entry was forced into locked trailers. The losses to these construction companies are in the thousands of dollars. These incidents occurred throughout the month of April, primarily on weekends.

Items stolen include sawzalls, nail guns, drills, chop saws, a Honda 3000 watt portable generator, hammer drills and other miscellaneous tools. Power tools from one of these thefts have bright red and blue marking paint drawn around the housing of each tool.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in these investigations by sharing any information that might be helpful in identifying those responsible. We are also asking that you be vigilant in your observations of your neighborhoods and report suspicious persons and/or activities.
