Thursday rains cause some flooding

The Brillion News

There has been some minor flooding as the result of heavy rain on Thursday, March 19.

The worst appears to be the East River in southern Brown County.

The river was over its banks north of Greenleaf, with Wrightstown Road under several feet of flood water and barricaded off west of State 57/32

The river was also up to the bottom of the bridge on State 57/32, north of Eiler Road (County ZZ) in the Town of Rockland.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's department also declared a "no wake" order for all rivers in the county until further notice.

On Friday, March 20, a Great Lakes cargo ship, the Algoma Conveyer, was reported to have run aground in the Green Bay, north of the mouth of the Green Bay harbor. Tugboats were being dispatched to free it.
