The WIAA girls basketball playoffs began on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and will culminate with the 2023 State Girls Basketball Tournament from Thursday, March 9 to Saturday, March 11 at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
#3 Brillion lost to #6 Sheboygan Falls 47-42 on Friday night in a Division 3 regional semifinal. Sheboygan Falls advanced on Tuesday night when they beat #11 Two Rivers 59-35. The two were familiar with each other as conference opponents. The Lions beat Sheboygan Falls 40-39 on Dec. 8 at home and 51-43 at Sheboygan Falls on Jan. 27.
#2 Wrightstown won a regional championship after two home wins. They beat #7 Oconto Falls 62-45 on Friday night. The Tigers followed that up with a 56-47 win against Peshtigo on Saturday night.
Freedom knocked off Wrightstown 59-39 on Thursday night in the sectional semifinal. Freedom is 26-1 this season.
#14 Hilbert defeated #3 Salam 63-41 on Tuesday night. The Wolves lost to #11 Sheboygan Christian 42-40 on Friday night in the regional semifinal.
#9 Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran/Providence defeated #8 Reedsville 58-46.
